Lewiston Veterinary Clinic was established in 1947 by Dr. Klaus. He was joined by Dr. Richard Campbell in 1962, and Dr. Clair Sauer, an MN graduate, joined in 1965.

They worked out of an office building that was located on Main Street and then moved the practice to its current location in 1981.

The clinic continues to grow, and in 2000, the small animal addition was completed. The clinic is well-equipped to cover large and small animal care.

Dr. Flathers graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989 and specializes in companion animal medicine and surgery, with a special interest in orthopedics. He lives in Worthington with his wife, Laura; their two children; and a household full of pets, including three poodles and three cats.

Dr. Brett Flathers

Veterinarian

Dr. Noel, originally from Faribault, MN, earned her veterinary degree from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. She provides both companion and production animal care in Lewiston. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping, riding her horse, and working on sewing and embroidery projects.

Dr. Aliyyah Noel

Dr. Lorch graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and has been with Lewiston Veterinary Clinic since 2005. She works with dairy cows, goats, small ruminants, and companion animals and is accredited with the Food Armor program. She lives on a hobby farm near Lewiston with her husband, three children, and a variety of animals. Outside of work, she enjoys family time, church and school activities, and raising goats and rabbits.

Dr. Karen Lorch

Dr. Murphy graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. She has interests in dairy medicine, beef production, and companion animals, and enjoys working with both producers and pet owners. She lives on a farm in Utica with her husband, four children, and several pets. In her free time, she enjoys family time, hiking, and cooking.

Dr. Kathryn Murphy

Dr. Scharmer grew up on a hobby farm near Winona, MN, and developed his passion for veterinary medicine through 4-H. He graduated from the UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2023. Outside of work, he enjoys swimming, hunting, woodworking, sports, and park outings with his wife, Becca, and their daughter, Wren.

Dr. Ethan Scharmer

Dr. Wagner graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and joined Lewiston Veterinary Clinic in July 2025. She has experience in mixed animal practice and a passion for preventative care. Outside of work, she enjoys running, hiking, helping on her family's farm, and spending time with her cat, Ruby.

Dr. Josephine Wagner

Natalie joined the practice in October 2021 and holds degrees in business management and marketing, along with an event management certificate. She enjoys boating, hiking, camping, hockey, and keeping up with her kids. At home, she cares for a Border Collie, a Catahoula Leopard, a lovebird, and a bearded dragon.

Abby joined the LVC team in 2016 after completing her externship the year before and earning her associate's degree in applied science from Rochester Community and Technical College. She and her husband, Josh, enjoy walking, biking, hunting, and spending time with family. They share their home with a poodle, Archie, and a cat, Annie.

Andie joined the team after interning in 2018 and holds degrees in Animal Science from UW-River Falls and Veterinary Technology from Rochester Community and Technical College. She lives in southwestern Wisconsin with her boyfriend and three dogs. In her free time, she enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and outdoor activities. She works with clients and patients at both the Lewiston and Eyota locations.

Andie

Elizabeth started at the practice in March 2019. She received her BA in Biology and an Associate of Applied Science in Vet Tech. Her hobbies include redesigning her camper, cuddling with her pets, and taxidermy. She has a dog, a cat, sugar gliders, and a hognose snake.
